Steph and I have been in the WRC since five this afternoon. We watched all of the A&E Pride and Prejudice miniseries, which I had never seen before. And let me just say mmm mmm Colin Firth. I’ve loved him for years, and he was brilliant as Mr. Darcy with all of his long, intense stares. His I-will-gobble-you-up stares. His I-am-slightly-dangerous-with-a-heart-of-gold stares. His screw-me–oh, you get it.
And now we’re watching Interview with the Vampire, which is hilarious, and eating chocolate-covered strawberries, which are delicious. The former is a tradition from freshman year that we’re renewing now. I don’t even want to think about how little time I have left, how few days I have in which to perform these nostalgic rites.
Ah, and Louis has just said my favorite line of the movie. He is speaking of seeing sunsets for the first time since he died, on film:
“Silver at first, then as the years progressed in tones of purple, red, and my long-lost blue…”
There is just something about how he says ‘my long-lost blue’ that strikes me every time.
