» open letter to css firefox bird

Dear CSS Firefox bird,

You suck and I hate you. Sure you have a pretty name and a nifty icon. But the icon only shows on my desktop. In the system tray and alt-tabbing you’re that ugly old-school windows sign. You’re every stupid error message.

Quit rendering things differently than IE! Where is all this extra top padding coming from, Firefox? And why won’t you just keep the bird at the bottom, even when my content is short?! IE will.

Please, just sell out. For me.

Yours,

R.

» whee! and: breakfast

I think it’s all fixed now, thanks to Bryce. :D

And that is all, ’cause I’m dashing out the door to Denny’s, and Jo, who is not allowed to move to Tucson dammit. Mmm Denny’s… Mmm Jo…

» v. life of pi

Well, I whipped this up tonight, and it’s riddled with all of these very small but extremely annoying problems in IE. I don’t know about Firefox yet; I want to deal with one thing at once.

If I get annoyed enough with the sometimes-appearing bottom scroll bar (for no reason at all) and the sometimes-funky contact image, I’ll put the Iowa layout back up. Or if everyone says Woah, gross, put Iowa back up! Then you can have Iowa back. It does look a lot better photoshopped, so really don’t be ashamed if you want Iowa.

On this layout: The pictures are blatantly stolen from the cover of Life of Pi, by Yann Martel. It is a staggeringly good book. If you do not buy it within a day of reading this, shame on you. Deep shame.

» would you rather:

I abandon this whole idea of skinning the site and code this design normally so it doesn’t look all freakish with the blinking images and the big ugly padded space at the bottom?

or:

I come up with a whole new design that can be coded so it doesn’t look freakish?
