July 16!!!

::stops spazzing, as is at work amidst older, disinterested coworkers::

Now the dilemma: Do I order it on Amazon (where it is already #1) to save the hassle of going to the store that day and waiting in the tremendous line, or do I go to the store and wait in the tremendous line so I don’t have to possibly get it the day after it comes out? The 16th is a Saturday so theoretically I could forgo sleep and read it all in that weekend, if I had it…

(Also, just before I go on vacay I’ll be temporarily turning off comments. Nothing against you, but the amount of despamming I have to do has been insane lately.)

» together forever

Generally I shy away from layouts that have superdark backgrounds and light text, because they’re harder on the eyes than something the other way around. But I wanted to do something for Halloween, and this just popped into my head one day, so I went with it.

If you’re not seeing the new layout and would like to, it’s listed as ‘together forever’ under the ‘skins’ choices (which are I believe either to the left, right, or at the very bottom of your screen, depending on your current view). I think I’ve fixed all the little glitches, but please let me know if anything’s weird. Unless you’re using Firefox, Bryce. I don’t have that installed on this computer, so I won’t be checking any of my layouts against it any more. Sorry. I know you’re a quarter of my readers, but it’s just too much of a diva to work with.

Screencaps are from Fatal Frame II, which is a fabulously creepy videogame, if you’re not familiar.

» Bryce is awesome

Worship him!

(Note: He posted this ’cause he fixed my MT so it actually showed the entries I was writing. There was this whole server switching thing and…things. ::waves vaguely:: So thank you!)

» snail light

“Singing in the voice of a tired traveler, alone against everything. A new testament. There was no certainty to the song anymore, the singer could only be one voice against all the mountains of power. That was the only sureness. The one voice was the single unspoiled thing. A song of snail light.”

Well, I’ve been sitting on this layout for a while because a) I couldn’t get everything arranged the way I wanted and b) I couldn’t get Firefox and IE to get along. Now I’ve both settled for this arrangement and given up on working with Firefox, since it’s hopelessly incompatible with IE, and more people I know use IE.

Well, and I use IE, and I’m pretty sure I look at this site five hundred times more than everyone else put together, so. And there are still choices for people who use Firefox. I’ll continue to attempt to get the code to work in both places, but I’m not going to kill myself over it.

Okay, so the ‘skins’ links at left half work now. Firefox is still doing obscene things to ‘blue yonder’ so that isn’t up, and for some reason the javascript I’m using to switch the stylesheets isn’t holding onto the choice over at diary-x, so if you look at my journal (which there’s really no reason to anyway) it’ll always be Pi at the moment. If it weren’t so much work to un-link them I would, but it is so…please just ignore the temptation.
