Surprise!

So, I got tired of thinking I was going to fix the rest of the stylesheets to work with WordPress, my new publishing tool thingie. I know just how to do it, and the switcher works better than ever and all that jazz — I’m just honestly too lazy to go through and make all the tweaks. It’s long and tedious and they’re old layouts. So until I feel more motivated you get this, the essence of plain but functional.

As always, let me know if you find anything broken!

Oh, also! Everything I have is here — the old dreams journal, what wasn’t destroyed in the diary-x failure, etc etc. A lot of the old stuff isn’t categorized or formatted correctly (and I’d say ‘yet’ but I’m not sure I’ll ever actually work back through everything — we’ll see). You may be wondering: Register? WTF’s in it for me? To which I reply: the protected entries. I would hate to be dooced. (Er. The bit about being fired for blogging. Not the bit about being such a witty, popular writer I can quit my dayjob and spend all my time dinking around with my website and taking pictures of random crap.)

After much tussling and head-scratching and squinting and ftp-age, I have upgraded movable type so I could upgrade the blacklist plug-in that helps me batten down the comment hatches against spam.

So we will now resume our regularly-scheduled blog, with each entry tagged by a lovely ‘comment? (0)’.

Until I can upgrade to a newer version of mt or otherwise fortify my comment-spam defenses, I’m blocking all comments. I have no way of just turning them off, so I’m rigging something up and crossing my fingers. Hopefully I’ll have a better (and permanent) solution soon.

New layouts are exhausting. But it’s finished now, I think. And it seems to look all right in Firefox, I guess. On my cursory look. If anyone finds anything that’s broken, though, please let me know. Or anything you think just looks bad, you can tell me that too. Please.

The Closer dvd is being released soon. The end of this month, I think. Not sure if I’ll get it or not; dvds have an annoying habit of dropping dramatically in price after 6 months or a year or so, and I think this one in particular will.

And that’s all, I think. I’m going to stumble off and do something Not in front of the computer for a while.

I want to redesign this, again. And a few weeks ago I got really into this particular idea. But the problem is it’s an idea that involves orange underwear. Orange knickers, to be exact. And I don’t think I need to tell you how the orange underwear image search went.

So, anyway, tonight I’m listening to Tori’s new album, The Beekeeper, for the first time, and I’m reminded of it. The chorus of the song in question rocks, hard.
