06/23 Sat: does jetskiing count?
Or not jetskiing? I don’t know what it’s called. Personal-watercrafting? Sea-dooing? Whatever it’s called, some of my friends just got a new three-seat Sea-doo so we went out on the lake Saturday and sweet jesus are those things fun. I was sad to leave mid-afternoon (to head to my cousin’s wedding, which was also fun! but a lot less exhilerating), but it was for the best since I discovered a few hours later I had fried the crap out of myself, despite wearing sunscreen. My legs in particularly are now violently red, and I feel I’m one missed aloe application away from blistering. It’s kind of hideously painful, actually, but did I mention it was very, very fun?
Also! I got a new couch on Tuesday! And it is beautiful, and comfortable, and I love it. (And its matching chair.) And I can’t say enough about how awesome Room & Board has been to buy from, from my first visit to their lovely follow-up email after Tuesday’s delivery. I had a ton of fun in their store; their salespeople were glad to leave us alone to play for hours, and immediately available and informative when we wanted to talk. When the furniture was in, the distribution center called when they said they would to set up the two-hour delivery window, and the delivery people (as promised) called a half hour before the actual delivery so I could leave work to meet them. The two men doing the delivery were super nice — they offered to take off their shoes, they made sure it was all arranged how I wanted, told me about the little felt deals on the legs for easy sliding — which is fantastic because I’d forgotten to go out and buy gliders, and now I don’t have to. Anyway, I loved the whole furniture-buying process. (Except for the part where I have to pay my credit card bill this week. That part I love less.)

Oooo, how fun! Speaking of water sports, my brother just bought a boat! I’m a little uneasy about going out on it until he figures out what he’s doing, but it should be fun. :)
And! I, too, spent the day in furniture stores couch shopping yesterday. I’m jumping up and down in anticipation of pictures of your new furniture. :D
