Because it’s Friday I:

  • am enjoying peach iced tea instead of just water
  • splurged on breakfast with:
    • a slice of raisin rosemary rye bread with a smear of cream cheese
    • a banana pineapple frappe
(blend: 1 banana, 1/2 c pineapple juice, 1.5 t honey, 1 T buttermilk; serve over ice & garnish with mint)
  • am indulging in feeling persecuted at work
  • am letting myself make all the lists I like

I also:

Browsing my library’s online catalog, I see they keep not one but five copies of the Pillow Book movie. Which shouldn’t surprise me as it’s all arty and what-not, but I was introduced to it from the ‘omg there’s nudity heehee!’ angle, so.

In addition to the many things it does have, my library does not have:

  • Secrets of a Jewish Baker
  • Season 2 of Cowboy Bebop

Interlibrary loan, however, can provide me the former. And probably the latter, come to think of it, but I haven’t yet checked.

These days I wake up — awake. As awake as you can expect to be six seconds after opening your eyes. Happy to be moving. Purposeful. Ready to act. And I step into this office and I can just feel it all shutting down, all the switches flicking off. Everything going dead and dull. And I’ve known it for a long time but still it makes me wistful, makes me sigh a little. It’s something my day never quite recovers from. I come home from the long dreadful boredom and want only to crawl into bed and sleep. Lifeless little sloth girl.

That hidden passageways thing reminded me of one of the midterm projects– dude rigged a keyboard to unlock a door when you played Gmajor7. It’s got a few kinks to work out, like, you can still unlock the door if you depress the keys asynchronously, but how fun.

And also, your posts make me hungry.

Well, not yet, but…I plan to. ::duck:: I’ve heard such good things, and you always seemed to really like it, and…well. If I can eat olives, I can like anime. *g*

I’m on the library list for S1, but I expect it’ll take ages to get.

And Kathy: So. Awesome. I require a secret passageway in my eventual house.

All those years making fun of – argh.

Well, I think you will like Cowboy Bebop, it’s really well done. If it does take forever to get it, you should consider watching it with me, though…

Dude, I think you’re grossly overexaggerating my fun-making. And blaming me for other people’s fun-making. I teased a little, I’ll admit, but it wasn’t years! And anyway it was more about the sheer volume of your tv watching than anything else. *g* And your Lifetime habit.

Do you have the dvds? ‘Cause the library only allows them out for seven days, so I’d have to pay fines if I brought them down to LA. And I’m not sure I’ll get them in time — there are fourteen people ahead of me and two reservable copies, which puts me at seven weeks in an ideal world, which about puts me at the visit, right? (And wow that’s a happy thought!)

LA as in Louisiana?! You’re coming down to BR?!

Yes! I’m coming to BR the second full week in April. :D And Kathy should come too. ::nodnod:: I’m sure Steph wouldn’t notice if you moved in under the sink. Right Steph?

Very cool! If you and Steph aren’t too busy causing mayhem in the Capitol City, we should get together for a tea party or something. My friend Rachel (er, the other Rachel) and I make some killer blueberry scones! ;)
