July 16!!!

::stops spazzing, as is at work amidst older, disinterested coworkers::

Now the dilemma: Do I order it on Amazon (where it is already #1) to save the hassle of going to the store that day and waiting in the tremendous line, or do I go to the store and wait in the tremendous line so I don’t have to possibly get it the day after it comes out? The 16th is a Saturday so theoretically I could forgo sleep and read it all in that weekend, if I had it…

(Also, just before I go on vacay I’ll be temporarily turning off comments. Nothing against you, but the amount of despamming I have to do has been insane lately.)

» wanderlust

My heart’s been far away lately. It’s been set on England and Germany and India and Egypt and lately Singapore.

The flight to Singapore is so long that they have cold storage on the planes for anyone who dies. On a regular sort of flight if someone dies they are left in their seat; maybe a flight attendant will put a sheet over them, maybe not. If you are next to the dead person and there are empty seats elsewhere on the plane, they’ll probably move you. But if you’re going to Singapore they put the bodies in cold storage, so long as there are not more than two. More than two and you have a problem.

Fourteen days to California. I’m hoping for warm weather when I get there. Warmer than here, anyway, which shouldn’t be hard. Though now that I’ve plugged in my space heater I keep it around 77 in my room, which I know is abnormally high.

It is 10:25 and I am suddenly hungry. But this happens every day around 10:30, like clockwork. An 8-4:30 job makes you notice these things. It forces your life into a regular pattern.

» you shame me, Lost

Lost sucked last night. It is now officially off my recommend-to-watch list. I will probably continue to watch it because it’s habit and nothing else is on Wednesday nights, and (mainly) because of my complete Naveen Andrews adoration. I want to have the man’s babies. Lots of fat, happy babies.

I knew I wasn’t going to like the episode the instant I realized it was Jack’s (which was as I was rewinding to the beginning and saw the first few minutes in quick reverse). So I gave it some mental leeway. I knew it was going to suck for me. But when they — oh, spoilers.

» the TransSiberian Orchestra

Last night my dad and I went to see the TransSiberian Orchestra at the Excel Center in St. Paul. I wish you all could have seen it. I wish everyone everywhere could have seen it, because it was amazing. And I was sitting close enough to actually feel the waves of heat from the fireballs.

That’s right. Fireballs.
