» books: a non-exhaustive list
A brief list, containing most of my texts for next term, bar a few text books and a collection of fairy tales. I haven’t really had new books in ages, not the way I usually buy them. I’m in ecstasy. School is the perfect excuse to indulge in:
- The Giver, by Lois Lowry
- Number the Stars, by Lois Lowry
- The Book of Three, by Lloyd Alexander (I adored this series when I was young)
- Bud, not Buddy, by Christopher Paul Curtis
- Holes, by Louis Sachar
- The Secret Garden, by Frances Hodgson Burnett
- Because of Winn-Dixie, by Kate Dicamillo
- Disgrace, by J. M. Coetzee
- Life of Pi, by Yann Martel (started at my internship, have been dying to finish)
- How Late It Was, How Late, by James Kelman
- The Blind Assassin, by Margaret Atwood (have copy from UK, will finally read)
- Heat and Dust, by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala
- Hotel Du Lac, by Anita Brookner
- Moon Tiger, by Penelope Lively
- The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse, by Louise Erdrich
- Glamorama, by Bret Easton Elis
- Underworld, by Don Delillo
- Neon Vernacular, by Yusef Komunyakaa
- Mindfield, by Gregory Corso and David Amram
- Wilson: A Consideration of the Sources: Containing the Original Notes, Errata, Commentary, and the Preface to the Second Edition, by David Mamet
